As some of you know, I just spent 13 days on Maui and I played 10 times. I was asked to summarize the courses on one post, so here they are, rated 1 to 5 where 1 is lowest and 5 is highest (IMHO). If you click on each of the links below you can read a detailed review of each course with pictures and some videos.
Wailea Emerald - 5! (They have it all!)
Wailea Old Blue - 3.5 during the week - 4 on weekends (when construction is shut down)
Kaanapali Kai - 4 (fun, but a bit too short for the price they charge - almost executive like)
Kapalua Plantation - 4 (they'd get a 5 if they let you drive on par 4's and offered ice, towels and water)
Elleair - 4 (No real restaurant, otherwise they would get a 4.5 - very nicely maintained course)
Makena North - 3 (change the fairway grass to something that has a root system and doesn't wrap itself around your club!)
Makena South - 3.5 (Lovely views, but grass sucks, just like the North course)
The Dunes of Maui Lani - 4.5! (great links course - they'd get a 5 if they switched to electric carts)
Remember...no matter what your eyes tell you, your putts will ALWAYS break to the ocean.
Avoid Pukalani at all costs (rated 1 just because they have 1 cool hole with two greens to chose from - risky and not risky) - a badly maintained, run-down course not worth your time or money.

I'll be back in Maui sometime in 2008 and will play and rate the courses we didn't get to this time.
Aloha!
