Guest Post: Rio welcomes golf back into the Olympics [infographic]

At long last, Golf is making a heroic comeback at this years Rio Olympic Games. It’s hard to believe that the “game” is proving itself to be a real sport after 112 years of debate.  Well now that is over and we’re excited to see who will end Margaret Abbott’s 116 year reign as the Women’s Olympic Golf Champion!

You may have also noticed a lot of media coverage regarding world-class golfers who unfortunately dropped out of Rio because of the Zika virus. McIlroy, Day and Speith, to name a few, won’t be taking part in this year’s games, which gives more opportunities for others to make a name for themselves.

So, who are the favourites for gold? Which golfers are risking the potential health fears of the Zika virus and potentially come home with a medal? All is revealed in the visual below…
