There’s an old adage that says, “Practice makes Perfect.” But we all know that’s wrong – Practice makes Permanent. Which is why I am so thankful that up until now, I never practiced my putting. Why? Because I had no idea what I was doing!
I’ve always called myself a “streaky putter” because there are days when the hole looks like the size of a dinner plate and everything seemed to go in; other days… a Ritz cracker, where the ball seems to take a whiff of the wafer and wave on by, or lip out.
I could never figure out what I was doing right or wrong, so I just kept doing what I was doing and hoped that, like a blind squirrel, I’d find a nut or two during a round.
But this weekend, I discovered a way to change all that. I was introduced to a new putting aid that I am convinced will take strokes off my game. It’s called Laser Putt – a revolutionary device that attaches to your putter and gives you instant visual feedback on what you are doing right /wrong with your flat stick.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a straight back – straight through putter, or if you prefer to swing on an arc; Laser Putt works with any stroke or any putter.
From just 1 minute with Laser Putt, I realized that my putter face was not square at impact during my stroke. It was either pushing too far to the right, or pulling a bit left. I couldn’t tell either from my naked eye, but I can tell you – lasers don’t lie!
Here’s how it works.
Laser Putt comes with two built-in lasers – a green laser which helps you master your line to ensure your putter face is square throughout the Critical Hitting Zone, which is 4 inches behind and in front of the ball. This video explains it all.
The red laser is used to calibrate your back stroke and master your distance control. Check it out…
According to the Social Science Research Networking 65% of us are visual learners. I certainly know I am, which is why this putting aid was made for me. It produces instant visual feedback with every stroke I make. The more I practice with it, the better my stroke gets and the more my confidence grows. And if there is anything I need more than a good stroke, it’s putting confidence.
Tee to green, golf is a game of inches; but once you hit the dance floor, it’s a game of millimeters, where the tiniest mistakes can result in the biggest misses. I don’t often rave about a golf product; I’ve been sent too many gadgets and gizmos to review that sound great, but perform pathetically and never see the light of letters on this blog.
But I honestly can tell you that Laser Putt is by far the most effective golf aid I have ever tried. It’s got a permanent home in my golf bag and will be a serious part of my 2015 plan to lower my handicap. But I don’t have to wait until spring to start practicing with it.
It sets up perfectly in my hallway where I plan to use it to groove a consistent and repeatable putting stroke that I can take to the course during my upcoming golf marathon holiday in paradise. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
See you on the green!
This is exactly what I need! I just can’t seem to get a rhythm with my putting and I end up hitting the ball differently all of the time. Thanks for the review!
