Faldo proves he’s a good captain while McGinley proves he’s a poor sport

Well, I thought you’ve probably heard enough about the “less than gimme” putt being awarded to the Weir/Singh team at the Presidents Cup (more sentiment would you say???), so…I decided to talk about the recent Ryder Cup news that Paul McGinley has resigned as Faldo’s Vice Captain after Nicky didn’t pick him for the Seve Tournament.

Bravo Nick and buck up McGinley. What’s with this giving struggling players a spot in an important tournament just because it’s in their country”. Sorry…but I’m glad to see Nick Faldo make the tough decision and pick the best, not the local favorite for his team. It makes me even happier that he’s the captain for next year’s Ryder Cup.

I think McGinley is acting childish and should grow up and realize this isn’t the local school ground. You haven’t played well so why should you be awarded? Sentimental favorites are getting out of hand in golf.

Now…who would I pick as Vice Captain for next year’s Ryder Cup??? I’d pick Thomas Bjorn. Who would you pick?
