Although I don’t consider Tiger’s dominance of golf “boring”, I do appreciate the sentiment in this article.
I would love to see Tiger face stiffer competition, especially from my faves like Ernie. But he certainly can’t be called an “upstart”, whereas Sergio can. Yes, besides Monty (who I love to watch too – and hope will win a major someday (with Renton commentating – what could be better than that!)), I would love to see Sergio win more and win a major or two or three even.
I don’t have any problems with his passion and “foot in the mouth” blusters. He brings a raw energy and passion that is a 2-edged sword he hasn’t mastered yet, but I still like him. Sometimes he makes me mad (still can’t get over that spitting in the cup thing – yuck!), but he gives the media something to talk about besides Tiger. As they say…”better to be remembered for something bad, than not to be remembered at all!”
